Parc du Simplon in Renens
Buildings

Work description
Parc du Simplon is an urban redevelopment project that led to the creation of a new residential and commercial district in Renens, less than 5 km from the center of Lausanne. The new neighborhood was built on the site of a decommissioned railway yard and includes 10 buildings: 2 designated for office use and 8 for residential purposes, providing a total of 200 apartments.
The office buildings received the Swiss Minergie-P sustainability certification. Their construction was guided by circular economy principles, incorporating recycled materials and installing solar panels that generate about 50% of the buildings鈥 electricity needs.
The project was completed within 3 years, on schedule despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. It also served as a driver for local development, involving 180 suppliers and service providers鈥攎ore than 70% of whom were locally based.
